Bishop's Hat Compote

Bishop’s Hat Compote. 15 1/8” tall x 10¼” top diameter x 6” base diameter x 4” bowl depth. Weight: 7½ pounds. Signed: J. Hoare A 32 point hobstar is cut on the base. A long tear drop in the stem disappears into the geometric cutting. A chain of 12 point hobstars alternating with cross hatching is cut around the lower part of the bowl and step cutting under the rim which is cut in a chain of hobstars. An unusual feature to this piece are the two J. Hoare signatures.
