The Blackhawk Chapter of ACGA

The Blackhawk Chapter has approximately 40 members covering Illinois , Wisconsin , eastern Iowa , and northern Indiana.  You must be a member of ACGA to belong to a Chapter.

Four meetings are held each year, two in the fall and two in the spring with an informal get-together at convention.  Meeting dates vary in order to accommodate the largest number of members. Meetings usually consist of lunch and an educational program.  As most meetings are held in member homes with occasional meetings held at a location having special interest and available luncheon facilities, members most often provide the programs with talks regarding various aspects of collecting and identification.  Annual dues are $10 per member.

There is a wide range of interests and collections within the group.  Both the novice and the advanced collector find that they are continually learning through the chapter.  It is a great way to talk to people and see first hand about a specific type of cutting, company, or designs that other individual members have detailed knowledge of.

The ACGA has over a dozen national committees that work on Catalogs, Marketing, Ethics & Authenticity, Endowment Fund, and Long Range Planning just to name a few.  The local chapter is a great way to stay abreast of all the details of what is going on at the national level.

The Blackhawk chapter hosted the ACGA national convention in 1993, an exhibit at the Peoria Lakeview Museum , and most recently the ACGA 2005 national convention.

Come to a meeting and give us a try.
